Popularized by Anchor Brewing, California Common or Steam Beer is a style of pale ale created in California before refrigerated fermentation was available there. Brewed with lager yeast at ale temperatures creates a crisp clean ale that lets the hops shine through. Anchor Point is used with Northern Brewery and Crystal hops traditional to the style in tribute to the great beers of Anchor Brewing.
