Beer Description

Munich, Germany, has six official breweries that are allowed to serve their legally protected Münchener Bier at Oktoberfest, the world’s largest folk festival. Paulaner, the youngest, was founded by monks in 1634. Augustiner, the oldest, dates back to 1328. Giesinger began brewing in a garage in 2007, and is now an established Munich brewery, hoping to soon be the seventh to pour at the famous Bavarian festival.

By law, a Münchner Hell must be brewed using Munich water and Munich air, the original gravity must be between 11.4 and 11.9 percent and the alcohol content must be between 4.7 and 5.4 percent. The IBU value must be between 14 and 25. Since 2020 Giesinger has its own deep well on the company premises in Feldmoching, the young Munich brewery fulfills all the conditions to brew the style.
