A little more than 1,300 years ago, Thor’s Oak tree was felled by the indomitable St. Boniface. Unafraid of the consequences, the “Apostle to the Germans” cut down the sacred tree to the false Norse god of thunder. This was the catalyst for the explosive growth of Christianity in Germany, and the symbolic triumph of Christianity over paganism.
