Working with co-founder Sebastian Sauer and the creative forces at Freigeist, one of the leaders in the sour beer category, we designed this delightfully salty, smoky and sour Lichtenhainer.
Brewed in collaboration with Sebastien Sauer of Freigeist, this malty beer was inspired by our Westfalia but brewed with smoked malts and charred manzanita.
Brett Berliner Weiße aged for 2.5 years in wooden barrels with Elderflower additions in 2017 and 2019.
Final fermentation in the bottle and disgorged.
A tap version has been served on festivals/ events sometimes listed with 4%.
The beer then went through four different stages of fermentation.
